Ekiti Local Government Area was carved out of the old Irepodun Local Government Area in October 1991. It shares boundaries with Ekiti State in the West and the headquarters is Araromi-Opin. The Local Government has 10 wards. Districts: Osi and Obbo/Eruku. Road Distance: From Ilorin to Araromi-Opin (LGA Headquarters) is 100 Kilometers. Population: 38,028 - (18,398 males and 19,630 females)1991 census. Major Towns: Osi, Obbo-Ile, Eruku, Araromi-Opin, Isapa, Isaro-Opin, Isolo-Opin, Obbo Aiyegunle, Ikerin-Opin, Ajuba, Koro. Important Markets: Osi, Obo, Eruku. Major Language: Yoruba. Natural Resources: Cassava, Yam, Kolanut, Lettuse and Orange. Mineral Resources: Granite. Tourist Attractions : Oloroke Hill (Eruku), Wood Carving Center (Osi), Apo Olori (Isolo-Opin) and Archaeological Site (Obbo). Hotel & Restaurants: Mayegun Hotels (Eruku), Yasila Hotel (Epe-Opin) and Denise Motel (Epe-Opin).
