Responsibilities

• Conducting a general survey and development of Mineral Resources potentials in the State.
• Establishment and promotion of small scale Industries in the State.
• Supervision and Management of industrial related government companies and parastatals.
• Forestalling unnecessary degradation of the environment by illegal and unprofessional miners.
• Developing of Solid Mineral sub-sector as a possible alternative revenue source to the state.

Achievements

• Partnership with Bank of Industry to provide loans to small scale industrialists.
• Provision of model Industrial Estate at Elekoyangan.
• Co-partnering with the Federal Government on the development of PHCN sub-station at Ganmo.
• Co-ordinating the activities of small scale Industrialists and Miners in the State.
• Building and equipping the Kwara State Liaison office for Raw Materials Research and Development Council-Display Centre.
• Provision of rice processing equipment to major rice producing areas in Kwara State (Edu and Patagi/LGAS).
