Kwara State is hosting this year’s National Cocoa Day Celebration. The two-day celebration will hold on Monday, 22nd, and Tuesday, 23rd of this month

The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Professor Mohammed Gana Yisa disclosed this in Ilorin while inaugurating the Local Organizing Committee of the programme in his office.

Professor Yisa said the gesture was in recognition and appreciation of the State Government’s increasing cocoa production in the country.

The Commissioner pledged that the State Government would make this year’s celebration the best ever held in the country.

Turning to the members of the planning committee, Prof. Yisa told them that their assignment include planning and execution of lined-up activities for the day.

Members of the committee include the Commissioner himself, as the chairman, his Permanent Secretary, Secretary to the State Government, the Chairman State House of Assembly Committee on Agriculture, Commissioners for Education, Information and Communication, Sports and Youth Development, and Chairmen of Isin, Ifelodun, Ekiti, Oyun Local Governments and the Cocoa DESK officer in the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mrs. Joana Folayan.
