KWARA SPENDS N86M ON WATER TREATMENT PDF Print E-mail

In its effort to provide potable drinking water to the people of Kwaa State, the state government has spent about N86 million for the procurement of water treatment chemicals for the state water cooperation.

The commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Adelodun Ibrahim, made this known to newsmen yesterday while inspecting the delivery of water treatment chemicals at the state water cooperation.

He said government will not accept any shady deals among staff that would affect the service of the cooperation, adding that the state government has pumped in a lot of money into the project.

He noted that two rehabilitated projects belonging to the state government and the Federal Government are presently going on at Asa Dam, adding that the state government’s project has been completed and ready to supply 12 million gallons of water per day to the people of the state.

He emphasized that by the time the Federal Government completes it own, it will supply 24 million gallons of water to the state. With this plan in place, he said, Ilorin metropolis will be supplied with sufficient water during the dry season.

He urged the store officers to keep adequate records of all the activities that take place regularly and warned surrounding communities where the project of the water pipes and other facilities will be placed not to vandalise them.
