NEMA TASKED ON DISASTER VICTIM |

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has been asked to be more responsive to the needs of the people affected by rainstorms and other unforeseen disasters in order to alleviate their sufferings.
Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Council Area of Kwara State, Hajia Nimotallahi Alabi, made the appeal, while distributing relief materials and other poverty alleviation items worth N18.5 million to over 1000 beneficiaries in the council.
According to her, “paying attention by NEMA to these people affected during their trying period would assist them to be part of the society and thereby boosting the socio well being of the people”.
She said the rainstorms affected the people of Share and Ganmo towns in the council, which rendered many of them homeless.
The chairman added that the rising to the needs of the these people at this period was necessitated by the desire of the present leadership in the state led by Governor Bukola Saraki to bring new lease of life to the rural populace.
Alabi explained that the PDP government in the state was concerned about issues that affect the citizenry, hence the various developmental programmes in the state.
