The government of Kwara State is to
collate the needs and problems of youths across the 16 local government
areas of the state with a view of finding ways to address them, as part
of the poverty reduction strategies of the Dr. Bukola Saraki
administration.
Special
Assistant to the Governor on Youths Affairs, Mr. Ben Duntoye, who made
this known said he had been mandated to undertake the immediate tour of
all the local councils with the hope of collating these needs and
problems of the teeming youth.
Duntoye
said the approach was also meant to involve the youth in the decision
making process of the day to day administration of the state, so as to
celebrate the socio-economic development of the state in the New Year.
He
pointed out that at the end of the tour, the government would have
succeeded in knowing- the feelings of the youth and finding the ways to
handle them.
The
special adviser explained that in order to achieve the desired results
from the tours, the councils have been grouped into six zones in order
to assist the government to collect reliable date on the needs and
problems of the youth.
According
to him, the present government is committed to the well-being of the
youth and would leave no stone unturned at addressing them, so as to
move the state forward.
