The University of Ibadan (UI) has commended the Kwara Government for its agriculture programmes.

The commendation was contained in a press release issued by the state ministry of Information in Ilorin.

The state said, the commendation was made on behalf of the university by Dr. Femi Omololu, fhe coordinator of its Masters Degree programme in project development and implementation. Omololu said this during the presentation of a paper entitled, “Project Development and Implementation: Kwara Commercial Agricultural Project in Focus” by Governor Bukola Saraki.

“Governor Saraki is an architect of modern Nigeria who has channeled a new course for economic growth, through diversion from crude oil to agrarian economy, to ensure food security”, he said.

Professor Isiugu Abanihe, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, praised the state government for the commercial agricultural project in the area.

Abanihe advised the government to put in place appropriate measures that would ensure proper monitoring and evaluation of the project.

He said that, his faculty was committed to the implementation and evaluation of projects such as commercial agriculture in the country.

Abanihe said that was the reason for the introduction of the Masters Degree programme in Project Implementation and Monitoring.

The commissioner for Agriculture, Prof. Gana Yisa represented Saraki on the occasion.
